The Association of Finnish Triplet Families
(Suomen Kolmosperheet ry)
The Association of Finnish Triplet Families was established in 1994. The Association is a non-profit organization, which works as a link between triplet families all over Finland. The Association of Finnish Triplet Families gathers information about triplets and gives out first hand knowledge about triplets. All the work is done voluntarely, without hired personnel. The association gets money only in form of members fee. However, all the donations, money or goods, are welcome.
The Association of Finnish Triplet Families is publishing a newsletter for its member families. In this TRIPLETTI newsletter the families tell stories about their own survival with triplets, give useful hints, receive information about upcoming events, sell and buy strollers, car seats and so on. One of the major functions of TRIPLETTI is that a member family realizes that it is not alone - there are many families in same situation than they are. There is always a triplet mother or triplet father to talk to. Triplet parents are fully understood only by another triplet parents.
The Association of Finnish Triplet Families organizes every year at least one summer meeting, where the member families can meet each other and talk about everything that concerns triplets. In 1998 there are three summer meetings in different parts of Finland.
Promotion of interests
The Association of Finnish Triplet Families tries to improve the position of triplet families. There are much to be done before the triplet families are in equal position than so called normal families with three children.
